Confirmed deal : Analyst Calls For Lakers To Trade 2 Stars
The Los Angeles Lakers looked like they were going to be one of the best teams in the Western Conference when the season started.
LeBron James and Anthony Davis appeared to be firing on all cylinders, and the early returns from J.J. Redick as head coach were encouraging.
While their record is still over .500 (12-10), there are a few growing concerns with this team, as they’ve struggled lately.
Their most recent loss came in blowout fashion against the Miami Heat, a game that many fans and analysts have criticized.
In fact, in a recent episode of “Hoops Tonight,” Jason Timpf indicated that the Lakers should start fresh, as he believes the team isn’t going anywhere this season.
While this might seem like an overreaction to some, Timpf appears serious and genuine with his frustration
He doesn’t seem to understand how a team with this level of talent is struggling and feels like it’s in their best interest to hang it up, trading Davis and James for maximum value, and move on to the 2025-2026 campaign.
A move of this magnitude seems unlikely given the Lakers’ track record, but anything is possible at this point in the season.
They do have the ninth-best record in a crowded Western Conference race, but if they fall any more, the team could be forced to reconsider their options moving forward, and what makes sense for them in the long run.
